A reason for optimism is the significant increase in the number of vacancies in the labor offices, as at the end of June they are over 30.7 thousand, compared to 22.4 thousand at the end of June 2020. Their number is increasing in all regions except Vratsa, where there is a slight decline, and we must consider the growing role of other (mostly online) channels for hiring new workers. Their growing use is particularly pronounced in the high-tech sector, which was also one of the main sources of new employment during the crisis. The general review of the labor market situation by mid-2021 shows a relatively rapid recovery. However, the low level of vaccination threatens with the introduction of new restrictive measures in the autumn, and the experience so far shows that they are the main source of new unemployment.

Make no mistake: this is not a proposal for a flat corporate tax, but rather for a minimum tax. And the idea is anything but new. The novelty is that it comes from G-7, on top of the proposals in favour of progressive taxation by the IMF Managing Director, Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, who was present at the London meeting. The proposal comes under the banner of “Shaping a Safe and Prosperous Future for All” and is supported by arguing that it would create a “leveled playground for all”, build “a strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive global economic recovery” and “tackle climate change and biodiversity loss”.
By 12 to 8 votes, the plenum of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) rejected the request of the Minister of Justice Yanaki Stoilov as inadmissible as to whether Ivan Geshev should be dismissed from the position of Prosecutor General on the grounds provided for in the Constitution. The proposal of the Minister of Justice is based on data presented by the Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov, which give reasons that Ivan Geshev with his actions has committed a serious violation, systematic failure to perform official duties, as well as actions that damage the prestige of the judiciary power.
